The SCP Faction in SCP: Secret Laboratory offers the most diverse set of playable roles. Each SCP has its own unique mechanics, making this faction one of the most exciting to play.
If you haven’t read the background tutorial:
Press F1 in-game to see your current SCP’s abilities.
However, not every mechanic is clearly explained in-game. This guide assumes you already know each SCP’s basic abilities and focuses instead on how to play them effectively.
The goal of the SCP Faction is to eliminate:
Victory comes from wiping out hostile factions and preventing humans from escaping.
Unlike other SCPs, SCP-079 is not a physical monster but an AI computer. It observes through cameras and manipulates facility systems to help fellow SCPs.
Its unique mechanics make it one of the hardest roles to learn. For that reason, this guide gives SCP-079 a dedicated section.
👉 On Meow Server (and some others), if you accidentally spawn as SCP-079 and don’t know how to play, you can use the SCPSwap command:
.SCPSwap [SCP number]
to swap roles with another SCP player.
SCP-079’s powers are tied to its experience level. As it levels up, it gains new tools to control the facility.

| 3 | Lockdown | Seal all doors in a room, trapping humans or cutting off access |
| 4 | Scanner | Reveal the location of humans in a selected area via the map interface |
